If elected at the state election on March 25, a NSW Labor Government will commit more than $100,000 of funding to all surf lifesaving clubs in the Swansea electorate.

This commitment was secured by Ms Yasmin Catley MP – Member for Swansea.

Surf life savers play a vital role in ensuring the beaches of the Swansea electorate are safe. Being allotted this funding to purchase new equipment will support them in keeping beach goers safe well into the future.

Over the summer period, 36 people drowned across NSW. This has a tragic impact on the families they leave behind and is traumatic for the surf life savers who rescue them.

Ms Yasmin Catley MP – Member for Swansea said, “I am pleased that a NSW Labor Government will provide over $100,000 to surf life saving clubs in the Swansea electorate”.

“We have seen far too many people tragically drown over the summer and this funding will help support our fantastic surf life savers keep beach goers safe”.

“I was proud to secure this funding”.

Mr Steven Pearce AFSM – Chief Executive Officer Surf Life Saving NSW said “SLSNSW welcome this funding commitment to support essential lifesaving equipment for our surf clubs which will only enhance our volunteer lifesavers ability to save and protect lives on our coastline”.
