Youth Leadership Forum

It was great to host students from schools across the Swansea electorate to my Youth Leadership Forum last Friday.

We had a range of services come along to speak about leadership and future career pathways into University and TAFE.

Thank you to TAFE NSW, University of Newcastle, NSW Police, Central Coast Council, Lake Macquarie City Council, Headspace, Coast Shelter and the Swansea Community Cottage for coming along and supporting the event.

Central Coast Menopause Service

The NSW Labor Government is opening a Central Coast Menopause Service run by the Central Coast Local Health District.

The new service is part of NSW Health’s extensive menopause network, which includes four menopause hubs and multiple referral sites throughout the State.

As a part of this network, the Central Coast-based service is designed to assist women whose menopause symptoms have not responded to previous treatments, or who face additional complications from other medical conditions.

General practitioners, specialists, and nurse practitioners can refer eligible women for advanced care. Women are also able to self-refer for an initial appointment. GP referral is required for subsequent appointments and referral to the specialised Royal North Shore Menopause Hub. Referrals to the service can be made by emailing CCLHD-Menopause-Service@health.nsw.gov.au

For more information about the CCLHD Menopause Service and referral criteria, contact 4356 9300.

TAFE Manufacturing Centre of Excellence

It was wonderful to welcome the Premier to the Hunter and my electorate of Swansea.

We announced the new TAFE Net Zero Manufacturing Centre of Excellence – a major investment in local workers, industry and our local economy.

The NSW & Federal Governments are investing $61 million in the Tighes Hill Centre to equip workers with essential skills and support business to adapt and ensure our region continues to thrive.

We also visited the Waratah Super Battery – one of the largest battery energy storage systems in the world.

This project is providing good jobs and in keeping with our region’s rich tradition of powering NSW, will ensure a reliable supply of energy across the state.
